You're not the only one; my laptop's been playing up since GUADEC, and I blame that on travelling too. It sometimes freezes or won't boot, with no clear cause. You'll be pleased to hear it now has Linux on it as the primary OS, although as I feared, suspend doesn't work... As I suspected, your Zen is a MicroDrive-based device rather than solid-state :) When I get a new battery for my MTP device to replace the swollen/exploding one it currently has, I can help you testing MTP in Banshee.
